Megan Bulloch, PhD LAc
Megan has worked as a Professor of Psychology and University Administrator at several universities in North America and Asia. Following a year of deep transitions, she turned to East Asian Medicine to rebalance her life and herself. This profound transformation led her back to school to become an East Asian Medicine practitioner to offer this healing medicine to others.
In her previous career, she served as a mentor to students and faculty, leading personal and professional development workshops for both populations. This includes restorative justice circles, social emotional coaching, and shorter workshops with a view to overcoming biases that get in our way of being our best selves.
What will this look like?
What a great question. I don’t know. Each journey is tailored for each person. This means that we might do acupuncture, and talk about some books and journal prompts. It means that we might do qi gong together before our session, and then acupuncture, and a herbal formula. It means we might see each other every week, or every month, or twice a year. What I do know is that we’ll find a healing space that we can hold and I’ll follow what works best for you.
FAQs
Do you take insurance? How much does this cost?
I don’t currently take insurance but am exploring the possibility. In recognition of resource disparity, my fees are based on a sliding scale that I’ve priced competitively ($90 to $150). I trust you to be honest about your resources, and to value my time and skills so I will not ask for income verification. I offer packages if you’re interested in seeing me more than once a month (and stay tuned for facial acupuncture!). Email me and we can discuss.
What if I’m scared of needles?
The needles we use in acupuncture are about the diameter of a hair. I’ve worked with a number of people with both needle phobias and who find needles triggering (due to medical procedures or drug use). We’ll go slow and work together to ensure you’re heard.
Can I read something about East Asian Medicine before I show up?
Oh yes please! Email me and I can recommend some webpages. If you’re really both feet it, “The Web that Has no Weaver” was recommended to me by my acupuncturist and got me here now. If you want something that’s clear about why I say things like wear a scarf, “Becoming Healthy, Staying Healthy” by Ann Cecil-Sterman is a gem.
